About Simone
Simone Lamont, MA LHEP, has always had a tendency towards leadership. Through primary and high school, Simone was involved in leadership opportunities, curriculum development and peer mentoring. These experiences highlighted Simone's natural leadership tendencies in a positive and useful manner. She came to understand that leadership is not a direct translation to power, control or hierarchy. To Simone leadership became about guiding, supporting, leading and/or mentoring groups and individuals. Leadership is about engagement, understanding, accountability, seeing the value and potential in others and not being afraid to not already know the answers, while working to find them.
Non-Profit Involvement
Simone has been involved with several not-for-profit boards and community groups over the years as community and collaboration is one of ways she aims to contribute outside of her professional capacity. Simone has been involved with the Terry Fox Foundation, BC Summer Swim Association, Strathcona Triathlon Club, BC Family French Camp, and parental advisory boards. Simone is currently an active board member of the BC Respiratory Service Providers Associations, working closely with the Ministry of Health and the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons on accreditation.
Leadership Journey
Simone's professional leadership journey has seen her in the tourism and hospitality industry for nearly a decade, the service sector for six years, followed most recently by ten years in private healthcare. The common thread she experienced as a leader in each of these different fields is that you are leading people and managing systems and change. Working in private healthcare through a global pandemic proved to be an exercise in adaptability and protecting the needs of your teams' individual and collective needs.
Education & Certifications
Simone has recently completed the Master of Arts in Leadership program at Royal Roads University and is a licensed Human Element® practitioner and trained in FIRO® theory. She uses these tools to understand inclusion, control and openness in all aspects of life and communication. As a practitioner who specializes in the implementation of the work, Simone has a passion for how we as individuals choose to show up both in our personal and professional lives. Simone is also a certified PEAT (Primordial Energy Activation Transcendence) Processor which aids in diffusing energy attachment to situations or feelings.
